Just received the mastered copy of my bands first album that we recorded over 4 weeks between in July and August. It sounds amazing! Unfortunately you'll all have to take my word on it for the moment until we've sorted out a release.

I'll update as soon as i know anything :)

FNA Jazzman pickup balance

I have very recently acquired a beautiful 02 FNA Jazzman 5 string, flamed maple and ash body, ovangkol/wenge neck and its truly a beautiful instrument!
Only problem I've had so far is balancing the 2 pickups, the neck pickup just completely overpowers the bridge pickup!
I have already adjusted the neck pickup to its lowest possible setting and put the bridge pickup as high before it sounds horrible. Yet everytime i switch to just the neck pickup the volume difference is still substantial.

Also I was looking around for a new preamp for it. I replaced my passive electronics in my Vette with seymour duncan preamp and LOVE it! Is there even a preamp out there with the switch and push/pull control nobs?

This is by no means an issue, but I like black hardware. 8:

My SS2, 4 string, has the standard gold. :eek:

It does look nice. But not black.:confused:

If anyone wants to trade your black for my gold, let me know. :d

One caveat though, is that since it's my only bass, I would need your hardware first...:|

Took a used newly purchased Streamer STD took get adjusted and the truss rod snapped? What can I do? I love this bass and Can't afford a new one.

Fretless advice?

Hey guys,

So, I've decided to hide away my fretted basses for a while and start concentrating on fretless. After playing fretted for ~10 years, I thought fretless would be easier to pick up, but I have found that fretless is a whole different beast. My biggest problem is intonation, of course :). When I bought my fretless thumb, I was happy that it did not have fret position markers (becuase it looks sweet!), but the more I have played, the more I desire additional visual assistance. I was thinking of ways to add fret markers temporarily or even permanantly. I drew in some fret markers with a white pencil, which helped out a lot, but the lines are almost completely faded away only after a couple weeks...

So anyway, as someone who is converting to fretless is there any advice that you can offer me to help me MASTER intonation?

These days i see a lot of Warwick amps coming by, second hand. the asking prices are low and i am thinking about giving a Warwick amp a try.

I am dubbing about 2 particular amps right now: the Pro Fet 3.2 or the Pro tube IV which are all about 200 euros asking... any suggestions about which one i should try first?

This is my demo of the new Tech 21 Red Ripper. I used my Corvette $$ and Pro Fet 3.3 head thru a 211 WCA.

This thing can get you sounding like Timmy C to the Moggie Synth of Birdland to slabs of Zender's old band's Pot Odyssey love song.
