we now have a solid 45 mins set of approx 12 songs.
i'm massively excited and nervous about this, as i havent been on stage or played live for at least 16years.
This will be the first time i have played the warwick in a gig condition.
i have instructed my wife to take photos as i want to preserve this moment.

I have an MEC Warwick bass active Jazz pick-up (J, bridge pick-up) in perfect working condition, for sale. And a set of MEC Warwick bass active Precision (P) pick-ups for sale (also in perfect working condition. These were recently professionally removed from my 2004 Warwick Streamer Stage I bass (4-string) - part numbers M 60201 (also known as M 60201L) & M 60200 - & are high quality active pick-ups from Warwick's made-in-Germany basses - as used in their Streamer Stage I, II and LX basses (at least), perhaps also other basses of theirs. They both retain all their external wiring in as-new condition.

Mainly from the E & A strings occasionally vibrating against it, the Jazz pick-up has a few string marks on the top of the casing (shown in the pictures) which is completely cosmetic – the pick-up functions perfectly. It even still faintly shows the official MEC logo on the casing as per the pictures. The Precision pick-ups show an ever so slight smoothing of the patina on the top of the casing - hardly even a cosmetic blemish - & both function perfectly.

They come with 8 (total) brand new original Warwick pick-up screws for installing the pick-ups on your bass. All in the original MEC packaging & padding as shown too.

Located in London, I'm looking for £115 for the Jazz pick-up & £125 for the Precision pick-ups. Will post. Payment via either, bank transfer (in the UK), Paypal (international), or cash on 'pick-up'.

The problem is that the dealer here in Portugal says that the warranty doesn't cover the speakers, so I´ll have to pay for a new one.
As far as I can tell it's easy to replace a HF horn since I did it once on my Ampeg 410 HLF but I have a couple of questions:

1- Can I change only the HF horn diaphragm, and if yes, what is the model of the horn
2 -Can I install the horn like the Ampeg one ( without soldering )

I would appreciate if someone could share the cabinet's user's guide since I can't find it on the current Warwick Home page.

Thanks in advance

Hi all,
Since the reply for my Stage II issue was so fast, maybe I can get a hand with this one...
I have a 1992 Thumb NT5 with Bartolini pickups and an unknown preamp - check the pic under and help me identify it ;)
IMG_20130520_204630.jpg

I have never been completely happy with the sound of this bass during the ownership - I love the feel, I love how it sounds unplugged but I find the plugged sound lacks output/power, is very nasal and middly (but then again, all Thumbs are...) and lacks deeper low punch and brighter highs.

Supposedly, the Bartolini pickups should be paired with the Bartolini pre, but I have no idea what is in the bass now and I have been thinking of replacing the electronics to get a sound more in line with my Stage II.

Any ideas on how to go about this? Is it enough to replace only the pre? Only the pickups? Both? Which replacement(s) to get that would be fairly easy to "drop-in" without big mods, namely, keeping the same pots/pot arrangement.

But my number 0 question really is... what Pre is this?? Either way, i think it is crap - the output is amazingly low, both in passive and active mode.

Hi everyone (fixed post, can't edit title)

I'm really hoping for some advice and good news here.

I have a 23 year old Thumb NT 5 string, and my luthier showed me today that the truss rod head is broken/halfed (this is between his setup and his previous setup end of March). He showed me the top of the truss rod (I'm not that technical with regards to repairs, which is why I pay him to take care of my beauty) and it seems halved. Does this happen with time? What are the odds of a metal piece just giving in?

He tells me that I need to either 1) take off the fretboard and replace the rod or 2) replace the neck and the rod.

Both of these sound rather extreme to me. Any advice welcome, as I'd like things in perfect order soon.

I am travelling to Germany in 4 weeks, so if I have to swing by a factory for repair I'll surely rather do that.

Ideas?
