really usefull information...think its right hand that is most bass players struggle with..all the great players have a fantastic right hand technique, john thunderfingers entwistle has is own unusual way,Steve Harris style looks more normal but god he is fast so there is something else there..steve always comes across and such a great guy willing to share what he knows and explain in simple terms...great stuff indeed..

My third finger won't cooperate. The middle finger is in the way, it has grown too long from all the sticking it up to ppl while in traffic.
Seeing Steve's little vids makes me want to tray again tho, I might have a go at using three fingers again after 23 years of using two.

i do use 3 fingers on my right hand but i never really noticed i did it,it just happens but not anywhere near as fluid or fast as i would like, honestly belive myself thinking to much about it is the problem.when i try practice it,it becomes harder and harder,..billy Sheehan's method of 3 fingers ..3.2.1.2.3 is a good start but tricky to get smooth and even,,Steve Bailey's version takes it to another level in so far that its similar to billys but helps with accent and keeping it even sounding.i am trying to work between the two... anyone interested in this that is having big problems (like myself) should have a look at the 4 finger technique too, if you can play finger style guitar it might be helpfull..abe laboriel (unsure of spelling) has a cool way of playing i think he said taken from classical guitar method, having a ramp really help imo here..sorry for the ramble but steve and his method of the mute playing really makes sence of all the others for me.its actually help me even with my pick practice.in my honest view using a pick is a much underestimated tool...

Yep. tonight is the second time I will be doing Steve's little exercise. At this moment tho it makes me feel like a total and utter nubcake who's been handed a bass guitar for the first time in his life. I hope the result will make up for the feeling like a useless crappy player.

Mental note: HANG IN THERE MARCO YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Yeah, I am trying 3 finger runs as well, it feels real awkward at the moment, both Steve and Alex Webster gave me the idea to try it

Check out the harmonics vid, it's pretty much epic. :-)

Haha, look at the 2nd video, at 5.09. I do the same when I pick up my white and HEAVY streamer. Always when I take my bass I do like "Aaaah!!!" and I realize only after :-)
Indeed the harmonics vid is very cool!
