I know what you mean and it reminds me of the movie: The Wedding Singer (btw, that movie includes lots of great songs).
I guess we could play at weddings, but then again, we wouldn't be your average wedding band,
as we only play Rock'n'Roll and Countryrock. We normaly play at private parties, music festivals and company parties.
December we play at company Christmas parties and will be adding: Last Christmas, Rockin' around the Christmas tree,
I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus and a couble of Danish Christmas songs, but that's pure fun

I also play in another band once a week. Here we take up 70' and 80' hardrock songs, drink a couple of beers and try to keep the tinnitus alive
