LOL Greg!
The kid is like 12. He probably went to his parents and was like, "Mom...
Dad... this man on the forum is talking about my jackrag. What is that"?
Then mom was like "Here I'll show you your fathers".
Buwahahaha!!!
This thread is too much.

Can a Dark Lord be tuned down to EADG like standard? And would that low E even be worth anything?

I know IncX has a video of his Vampyre
down tuned on YouTube, it's on the forum
somewhere...

yes you can with normal gauge strings and maybe a new nut if you feel like it. But you could downtune it to EADG if you wanted to. Not really recommended though.Originally Posted by whyachi

yes, you can use normal strings and tune it normally with no mods (not even a new nut).Originally Posted by whyachi

Is the J T/J pickup combo the best way to use the F# string? Would like a Dark Lord $$ work?

it would... it would sound really bassy/muddy and your note definition is basically dead *lol*Originally Posted by whyachi
with the current J/TJ combi, your note definition is actually dead with most normal cabs (like you cant differentiate a minor scale from a major scale with it)... you really have to look for a cab for it.
thats why i use the darklord like a percussion instrument currently... it works! *lol*
dont expect to get a Darklord to play popular cover songs... maybe it can do Korn ... but i think thats it. or well, you could play those alternative songs that use only the E and A strings *lol*

i think flipper meant getting Darklord strings and then tuning the .175 string to E, then the rest = A D GOriginally Posted by WoodyWoodpecker
its not recommended because everything you play will sound undefined... its like a huge click - boom, then nothing else. which i agree... although i would probably go that route of down tuning to E A D G *lol*

This one has TJ / TJ setup, that will still work okay right? I'm was just thinking about like a 5S or 6S with a low F# and wondering what pickup options might be. I figure the 6S would have to be soapbars.
