Looks like that might be just toooo much porn. Unfortunately I can't view them d'Averc. Do you think they have been censored. lol
A while ago I posted some pictures of my Warwick Fortress One 5 bass on this thread I thought it would be nice to show a recording with my bandwhere I use my warwick hope you like it!
Sounds great Nielss1992, Like to sound of your singer too. Unable to view your pics, maybe you could post some more?
Thnx for the nice replies!
Hehe, yes, I am the slave to the rythm
Thought the t-shirt well fitted my function in the band xD
I attached some pics of my bass since they aren't viewable anymore.
She looks lovely Niels, thanks for the pics. Another fine Fortress!!!
Thnx, although the pictures arent high quality so she doesnt look as beautifull as she does in real.
About the strings honestly I don't really know. They came with the bass when I bought her. They lasted 3-4 Months and where pretty good but I couldn't find the same strings so then I replaced them for Ernie Ball's(I am searching for strings with more growl).
in my opinion, maple warwicks are well fitted with black labels or emps. the last have less zingy top. but my actual favorites are sit rock brights. very good for fingerpicking (smoother than bl - good contact), slap and tapping. easy playing with plec. they have full bass-fundament, support the typical growl (extensive mids) and are a bit less "harch" in the hights.
the stainless version has a good durability, nickel plated very smooth, sweeter and no duff top. if you like that and want to keep the brilliance of the fortress - imho good choose.
talking about sound is difficult - especially in foreign language

At the risk of turning this in to a 'which string is best' thread I would go for Dean Markley Blue Steels if you want more growl.
Ah, i see you are going for the classic 3 string configuration!! Good plan![]()
Somebody give this man a saddle piece. (Not for the G, but to tune BEAD hehehe)

yeah, I'm getting one soon, ordering the piece.
I swear, if Tommy Shannon played a Wick, it would be this shredded baby. it's covered in little dents and dings from being gigged with and abused. it's really cool, in a 'this instrument survived hell' kinda way.
Looks like it balances really well too.

if it didn't, it wouldn't be a fortress.
though I must admit, it has a little neck tug (it's not dive, like on an epi t-bird, just a slight pull)
in sunlight it just shines and suddenly, the wood grain is clear as day. it's really cool.
you mean the strap pulls your shoulder?

i have a 97 warwick fortress one. fantastic bass but has anyone else got a fortress with a light wood neck? every fortress i've seen seems to have ovangkol/wenge set ups like my streamer but my fortress has got something that looks like honey coloured birdseye maple but knowing warwick is probably an exotic brazilian hardwood. idea's?
Hi har mar, can you post some pics, always nice to see another Fortress!
There's already one pic of har mar's fortress on the forum:
Noob questions from a New(ish) Warwick owner
But I'm hoping he'll post some more![]()
A Thumb, a Nobby, a Streamer and still plenty of dreams
Aah, have seen that pic but didn't make the connection. I take it har mar is the new owner? I look forward to seeing more shots
What I meant to say was, I take it har mar is the new owner of your old bass?. (its complicated, starting to wish I hadn't started this as reading your other posts the answer is bleedin obvious. Must remember to try harder next time.)![]()

Hi everyone! I have a '97 Fortress One with P/J pickups. I really love the bass, but I have decide to sell it. (I think...) My wife says I have reached "critical mass" now that I have 4 basses. She says 2 have to go, but I bet if I sell one she will be appeased for a while.
My question is as follows: Should I just leave the Seymour-Duncan pickups that I have in the bass alone, or should I get some MECs and return it to stock? Do you think putting original equipment back in will raise the value enough to offset the cost of the pickups and preamp? Thanks for the help.
The truth is, I am afraid if I put MEC parts back in, I will love it so much more that I'll have a harder time selling it. Will the MEC stuff sound that much better?
I tried to attach a picture of it, but I cannot get it to work.
I think you should just leave it as is & leave any mods to whoever buys it.Nothing you do to it is going to increase it's value. It's a Fortress One & will attract that price, regarldless of what pickups are in it.
Good luck mate.

you should obviously give it to me for safekeeping.
but really, leave it like that- extra work that isn't required.
Hey Fortress owners,I have a question on behalf of another member, who needs to know if the Fortress bass fits in the regular Warwick Rockcase.
Cheers guys & thanks for your help.

worked well with the guy I bought mine from, I opted for keeping my Roadrunner gig bag however.
Hey guys, just posted my review of the MEC 3 Band electronics I installed in to my passive fortress, head over to Maddrakkett's if you wanna have a read.

Hey guys - I've got a late '96 Fortress One 4 string (in burgundy), which I've owned since new.
I bought it from the Bass Centre in Wapping in May '97 when I was 17, having saved up all my money from my part time jobs in school holidays and weekends for about a year. I scraped together enough money for the least expensive Warwick in the range - a passive Corvette which was £699 at the time, I think.
I'd phoned ahead to check they had them (and to get my dad's credit card number left behind the till - I was 17!), but when I got there they'd misunderstood and had no Corvettes. I played loads of basses, but my heart was set on a Warwick. The nice guys at the Bass Centre offered me a deal on a £950 active Fortress for £800.
I guess, judging by the dates, they'd had it in stock for 4 months and so were happy to shift it. I phoned home and got the all-clear from my dad, who agreed to lend me the extra £100, and me and my Fortress One have been together ever since. 13 years!
Quick question - it's not something I payed much attention to at the time - is the body maple? Looking at the details on the main Warwick Fortress page, there seems to be conflicting information about whether the bodies are maple or ash.
