I've come across quite a few ppl who have said they own fortresses from the 2000's, but on the warwick website it says the last fortress model left the factory in 1999.

Anyone know whats going on with that?

I can only speak for mine. I bought a Fortress MM in 98, and loved it so much I wanted another. When I tried to order in 2001 I was told they'd been discontinued. But my dealer found out that they had some bodies left that could be used however I wanted, so they made up the turquoise MM for me.

I can only assume that I am not alone in this!

Another great looking honey with gold hardware. 8)

Word of advice: Activate it with the Aguilar OBP-3SK/PP preamp.

I installed an OBP-3 in my Streamer LX - it's really a perfect preamp. Perhaps I'll install another one here.

Another idea is to integrate a Glockenklang Preamp.

  7. #47
However, another idea is to make a "vintage sounding" axe out of it. I would like to know how this bass sounds with Lindy Fralin or Häussel Pickups.

Its in dead mint condition..... not one ding !!!!!!!!!!!! it sat in the store for 7-8 years til I got it new in 05. I'm the first owner.
I found it in the back of the store on a rack with about 5 other basses that just didn't sell. they were covered up and forgotten about. I saw the cover and asked the guy, whats this? just stuff no one wanted he said. I pulled the cover off and thats what I saw......$750 brand new. he said no one wanted it cuz it was passive!!! dumb people here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

always ask about the back rooms in store, pawn shops... I have a few of these people call me when higher end stuff is about to go on the chopping block or its coming out of pawn... I got a great deal on a marshall jmc 800 guitar head for $450. sold it the next week for $850
so I could get my sansamp PSA preamp for the bass rig......
    wheel and deal !!!!!!!!

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forum. I thought what better place to start then The Fortress Club, since I'm a proud owner of a Fortress Masterman 5 string. I found it on eBay back in October and jumped at the chance to get my first Warwick.

Thanks man! Does anyone here have any suggestions for EQ settings? I play a lot of metal, so I need something that'll cut through the mix without having way too much treble.

    On your Bass:
    Pick-up Pan: 90% bridge, 10% neck
    Bridge Bass: 50%
    Bridge Treble: 40-50%
    Neck Bass: 0% (seriously)
    Neck Treble: 100%

    On your amp:
    Bass: Flat
Low Mid: Boost 2-3 dB at 250hz for a little punch if possible
Mid: Boost 3-5 dB at 450hz for growl
High Mid: Cut 2-3 dB at 850hz to kill some honk
    Treble: Flat
Mid scoop: Off - if applicable

    Cabinet(s):
Use 10" and/or 8" drivers. 15" and 18" won't help you much when fighting two metal guitars with tons of overdrive and a drummer with 4 kick pedals...

I just emailed Florin about making it a sticky:
"could you please sticky the Fortress club? we proud owners of one do not like to get discriminated just because our loved ones got discontinued

    thanks "

Thanks for the suggestion. Quick question though, why did you suggestion setting the neck bass to 0%? And would you change any of these settings if there were only one guitar player (I play in two different bands, one has one guitar player and the other has two)?

    simple:

click on your picture (right click) and open it with Microsoft paint, then go to _Image_ then click on -Stretch Skew_ then on the horizontal and vertical value boxes put a percentage lower (same in both boxes) and once the whole pic fits on your screen without having to scroll down or up to see the whole thing save it as a JPG. then use that file and post it here.

    simple.
