TNT finally got their act together and delivered the bass to the right person. I'm well chuffed with her, I've spent the whole morning playing her and I couldn't be more pleased.
I tried to take some photos, not exactly great camera work by me but they'll do.

A horrible blurry headstock photo :D

And the two $$ together, sadly my 5 'er is out of commission while I wait for a new JAN.

The only problem is I can't find the strap locks. I don't think they were put in which is annoying, I guess I'll have to contact the Bass Centre again to see if I can get a pair.[/url]

Search every nook and cranny possible for the strap locks... the usual hiding place is in the wax pocket in the User Kit (whether the wax tin is in there or not)!

I had another check and still can't find them. I'll use the strap from my other $$ so isn't a problem at the moment. As long as I can get a set or find them eventually/

Since Bass Centre carries the Warwick Security Locks (I've ordered mine from there before), they should have no problem taking care of you. Also, check every pocket and pouch in the Rockbag - I've found mine in there before...

Cheers guys. I checked the User kit and the Rockbag several times I even asked my housemate to have a look just incase I was being thick and couldn't find them but no luck.
I'll phone the guys at the Bass Centre when I get time, hopefully they'll be able to get me a JAN as well.

Not really. It is a special edition, limited to 16 5-String basses ...and i think 14 4-string basses.

that's really nice...may we ask how much you had to give for one of those?

how's the sound of zembrano compared to bubinga and ash?

The prices differ in Germany from 1199,- € to 1400,- € (or even a bit more) ...I bought it for 1199,- :-)
In the same shop the "normal" $$ 5 String in Nirvana Black costs 1239,- € ...weird, isn't it?

well, first of all the zebrano is heavier than the ash model... I don't know what it weights exactly. ...maybe I'll check it soon.

The sound... hm well, hard to describe. I had the impression, that the Zebrano gives more punch in the lowest end and a little more detail in the heights... maybe you can say: a bit more agressive overall. (?) [edit: compared to the ash model. I did not play a bubinga]

In general I have to say: I am very glad to own a W again. I think that the quality even improved, compared to my Fortress One back in 96 (or so)
(okay, it is not easy to make a comparison after such a long time)
The Instrument feels just great. So: A big "thumbs up" to all you guys at Warwick.

    Cheers

WOW amazing. thanks for the info and congrats on this. so the sound is better on lows and highs? great! what about definition? attack, sustain and growl compared tot he ash ones

Hm... I find it hard to do a comparison but I will do my very best.
The attack is great, thanks to the more in heights it hits directly in your face. I play heavy metal in my band and it is very important for me that you can hear every 16th in a fast song.
About the sustain... well i dod not compare the sustain with the ash. but I still got my neck-through (!) mockingbird bc rich here and compared to that the Corvette's sustain is great.
The growl is good a well. ...and I can't get it out of my head. since i bought the bass I have a constant growl in my ear/brain. This is where I see the plus in the low end. It may be a deeper growl than usual.

...of course this is a very subjective impression influenced by the case that I love the special wood ;-)
