If you like that Mark Bass, check out one of these 18lb. Giants:

Or pull the Shuttle head from it's dock and pair it with a 4ohm cab for a 300W mini rig:

Or go for the still reasonably priced 6.0 Shuttle, with twice the power and a tube front end! Personally I think the Genz-Benz Shuttles beat the Mark Bass in lighter weight, lower price, and better tone and features. not that Mark Bass is bad though - they are nice and all the Mark Bass owners here should be proud (as if you weren't...). :D

BTW, those are NICE Corvettes! I love my Corvette Std. "Tigerboard" fretless with Bartolini noise-free passive pickups. Gets a great "Jaco" tone with the a little more bite and growl in the bridge position, thanks to the Bubinga body...

Into the 8 ohms (like the 1x10 neo combo cab, it is rated 175W, and the whole combo weighs only 18lbs! I carry it in one hand with my Warwick Thumb NT slung over the same shoulder and no strain! But I have to tell you, it's no mere wimpy 175W - that combo shakes the walls and I don't even need to use the DI at my church of 200 members an a large building.

With another 8 ohm extension cab, the total load is 4 ohms and it puts out 300 LOUD and musical watts! When I combined it with my Goliath Jr., I couldn't believe the amount of air and volume it pushed! The only thing lacking is the headroom runs out a little over half way up, but at that point, it is enough to push a mid-size gig, or more with the 4 ohm, 300W setup. The 375/600W 6.0 gives you a warmer tube front end and the missing headroom, but it costs quite a bit more...

The 3.0 head goes for about $550 by itself and $730 in the 1x10 combo, but The Bass Place through in $110 worth of good extras (including Warwick strings and a Warwick hat! :D ), so I ended up with a great deal at around $620 for the 3.0-10T combo!

Yeah, I saw that ad too. The Ampeg is more of a "look" and a specific tone (how close, I don't really trust it...), but it is only half the power into 4 ohms, is less compact, and looks heavier than the GB...

Probably gets dirtier and gritier, but the GB Shuttle can really shape the tone for some greta clean solid and musical bass! The knobs are also nice, as the click at on every turn, so you can set thm precisley each time! :D And check out the front and back panel features:

You can see the info on the 3.0 here:
    http://www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&m...id=610&cid=95#

    And the 6.0 here:
    http://www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&m...sid=610&cid=95
Still prefer my SWR Mo' Bass rig for ultimate power, tone, and funkiness (syruppy-sweet analog effects), but you can't beat the portability of the GB Shuttles - and they sound dang good!

Amazing. Welcome to the forum man

That's the one I'm eyeing up dude. I've been thinking about it all day but still running through the scene where I tell my Mum I spent £800 of a bass instead of food and bills. I don't think it'll end well.

I think I may hide it at Uni for a couple of months so she doesn't find out and kick my arse.

Well, I sold my Wii and might have to part with my Ibanez SR900, but I brought the LTD 'vette.
It's only just been shipped so no photos yet, I'll have to wait 1 or 2 days yet, before I can get my grubby hands on her, I can't wait. I'll try and take some photos that do her some justice with my pitiful camera ability when it's here, no promises on the outcome though.

But till then I'll keep drooling at the photo from The Bass Centre.

    Cheers.

I probably should revsie for my exams but I think your right practicing is the right choice. Definently more useful in the long run than thermodynamics or quantum mechanics

My Wii also hasn't exactly moved far. I told my housemate I was putting it on ebay, and he said give me a bit for it instead. So it's hasn't gone far at all. 8)

When I traded my guitar gear for my first bass, I got an Ibanez BTB 6-string. At that same Guitar Center, there was a Warwick FNA Jazzman that was in Honey Violin stain, with the big exposed pole-pieces and shiney gold hardware. I lusted over that bass, but could never afford it. Then it was gone. I still mark that as one of about three or four Warwicks that had impressed upon my mind for the next two years before I broke down and got my first Warwick in March of last year!

    That jazzman LTD is awesome.

I'm not having any luck with my LTD. It was shipped last Tuesday and still haven't got it, the wait has been killing me. I phoned the Bass Centre today and explained whats going on. They looked at the order form and the delivery details and somehow got sent to someone in the Lancaster who ordered one at the same time. So theres some dude up in Lancaster with 2 LTD corvette $$'s and me with none. The Bass Centre said they're sorting it out and shouldn't be long, so hopefully it'll be here soon.

You just started your collection in March of last year!!!!???
Yeah, 7 Warwicks in one year! Here's the long and short of it:

I came into a little money before my health issues hit. When I got my Corvette Std. fretless, I fell head-over-heels in love with Warwick. As if the FNA Jazzman that I saw in '04 wasn't enough to get me really looking at Warwick, it was an Infinity SN that I saw while on vacation in California in '06 that sealed the deal. It was used at Guitar Center and had a price of only $900.00 on it. I had no idea what an incredible deal it was, and my wife and I were tight on funds, so I passed. Later, when I found out what I had passed up, I start obsessing about Warwick - it was "the one that got away" that ultimately put me on the collector's path! BTW, I actually saw that very bass in another Guitar Center when I vacationed in California again in Sept. of last year; it had the same missing knob and a price tag of $1500.00 - still a great deal, but I was looking at and owning other Warwicks by then...

So in March of last year, I snatched up the nice fretless. Only one month later, I made an on-the-spot store purchase of my $$. No other bass has felt so good in my hands that I just had to have it...(actually, my Thumb NT feels even better...)!

I have since traded away my fretless 'Vette because in June of '07, I found my "Tigerboard" Corvette Std. fretless that has the look of a rare exotic. I actually dreamed about the bass that night and called in sick the next day, just so I could go back and buy it. I wasn't going to let it be another warwick that got away! So I traded away my first 'Vette when I got my Genz-Benz Shuttle amp recently because I didn't need two of the same bass as much as I needed a portable amp...

A Thumb bass has actually been my dream bass for a long time and a lot of people here helped answer a ton of my questions when I began researching a possible Custom Shop Thumb. The answers had led me to want a standard Thumb NT instead, but used would be all i could afford. Lo and behold, when I decided to check eBay, my beauty showed up right away and I was the winning bidder for only $1425.00! My Thumb NT arrived one day before I was to leave for vacation in Sept. 2007. It is my favorite bass of all time! My Thumb Dirty Blonde was bought used from The Bass Place in December. It had been de-fretted and it had a perfect blend of fretted funk/slap/pop and warm fretless "mwah" and it was only $1495.00 and still had the LTD ED certificate. Thumbs rule!

I also wanted a Streamer Stage I or LX, but in Sept. '07 while on vacation, I visited Dana B. Goods and saw a Swirly Bubinga Streamer Std. in their shop and was knocked out by it. Imagine my surprise when, 4-months later, in January this year, a store in Denver puts that very bass up on eBay! I was the only bidder, so I won it for the opening bid of $750.00. Turns out it's a special "Millennium Project" edition made to promote the Custom Shop at NAMM 2000!

Finally, the SSI I had wanted showed up on eBay early last month and again, I was the winning bidder at only $1600.00 (this one broke the bank)! I originally wanted an unfinished one to replace my all-blonde Jazz bass for funk and R&B, but I couldn't resist the beauty of a blue stain with a high polish finish and gold hardware. Not only that, but it's even more valuable due to a nice AAA flame maple body. Extra investments, yet I got it for so cheap! :D

If anyone's interested, you can see and read the details about my Warwick basses at Maddrakkett's Bass Showcase:
