Hey all, can I join the club now? Last Saturday I picked up my brand new passive Warwick Corvette Standard in ash. Waited 20 years to get one and finally got there and WOW, what a bass. The quality and workmanship is stunning and the sound is something else. Even the gigbag came with a quality check sheet that was dated and signed. Plus, how a passive bass can have such an aggresive full sounding growl is beyond me. Truely amazing bass. My only issue is my other basses are a Stingray and a Fender Jazz and this is what I have played for 23 years. The Warwick has such a small body and a much longer neck so it feels a little odd and will take some time to get used to. I keep fretting on the 2nd fret when I want the 1st Anyway, very happy with my purchase and a big thanks to Warwick.

After weeks of lurking I finally get to join the club. I bought this 2008 Standard Active Bubinga off of the Guitar Center website. (I'm not crazy about buying from Guitar Center but they were having a 15% off sale so that knocked about 230 dollars of the price, I couldn't resist)

I've been playing bass since I was 14 but I feel like this is the first REAL bass I've ever owned. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Warwick really makes you feel good about buying their basses with the sturdy gig bag and binder that comes with it. I could not be happier. This bass makes me feel like a real bass player.

Here's a pic, I have a crappy camera but it'll have to do for now.

Being an '08 makes it German built doesn't it?

Yes an 08 makes it German for sure. It also says made in Germany on the cover on the back.

Thanks ectoflanger, I am really loving it. I just checked the serial number on mine and its actually a 2010 I ordered it in November 2009 and got it the end of Januray 2010. With the move to Korea announced early 2010, mine must be one of the last batch made in Germany

Did not have a clue about the Korea move on their main line of basses. It's a shock for me, I'm afraid.
