I think that this particular fretless Corvette was on the cover of my first Warwick catalog back in 1998.

You were there when I first joined the forum and never saw you again . That Custom SS1 is like the Epitome of warwick Custom Shop (IMHO), the white LED, straight in the middle of the neck, is awesome.
Hey Flipper! Thanks! It's good to be back on the forum again... I'm glad to see so many people from back then are still on and contributing.

Not long after I got these CS basses I ended up getting out of music for a long while (the job I had at the time involved a lot of overtime work, to the point I couldn't keep up with the band) and just recently got back into playing regularly again with a new band. Hopefully we'll be able to start doing some shows in a couple of months, but it's definitely good to be playing again.

I've just bought a brand new Warwick Corvette 5$$ Special Edition Macassar from Germany. It is really nice!
I also have a Warwick Streamer LX JazzMan 5 CustomShop 2007.

    Warwicks in the HeartLand!

After moving from The Big City (Metro-Detroit) to a Small Town (Columbus, IN. - Population 49,000) I needed something to keep me Company. So here are some of my German Friends!

    1999 Streamer STD
This was a "Rescue Bass". I found it on CragsList. It had a Bowed neck, Rusting Strings that were tuned so tight they Should have broken, and covered with Sweat, Vomit, Feces, and bits of small dead animals. (No I'm not exagerating. Much...) But after disassembling, and Cleaning, Tweeking, and replacing the input jack I give you my *Favorite Bass! (*Under 8 Lbs!) This has an Ovongkal Neck, but the dimensions are EXACTLY the same as a Wenge Neck. It is an AWESOME Player!

    1999 Corvette FNA
    Honey, Ovongkal, Brutal Sounding!

    1998 Corvette FNA
Red, Wenge, Plays Smooth, Growls while Purring!
Yeah, I've got 2 of these...Don't Ask! And I need to take New Pics of this one.

    1996 Fortress Masterman
Red, Wenge, Jazzy Growl, like a Cool Cat on the Prowl!
My First Warwick. The pictures say it all!

I have one of those basses that has bits of 'stuff' on it -- it came out of a prison. I've only cleaned it where it had to be cleaned. The rest of the grime adds to it's mojo. Plus, the layers of gung add to the sound ... yeah!

Yeah the inlays are supposed to be positioned as if it was a 4 string...looks cool to me and I've been playing the Carvin mostly, before getting the Streamer that is...they are very different tonallywise, the Carvin has a really amazing tone, bright and incredibly clear even on the B string, which is probably one of the best I've ever heard, not to talk about the tremendous output, the pick ups are actually humbuckers in J covers...on the other hand, the Warwick has the growl we all know and I still need to see how it goes with the band.

Heres a (pretty bad) pic of my two basses and my two guitars. The basses are a 5 String Thumb NT (with a d-tuner on the B string to drop it down to an A) and a 4 String Corvette STD Fretless (also with a d-tuner to drop the E to a D).

and heres my current amp set up. My main amp is a GK GLX 410 cab w/ a GK Backline 600 head. I have a SWR LA-15 combo that I use for a clean amp.

Thanks, DiMarco! I wasn't really into that swamp ash + chrome hardware combination... it was kinda lame for me. But i think that the black hardware gives the swamp ash 'vette a total new look
