Nice bass, however I would have been a little more careful. Basses can't swim... or at least the ones that aren't fish can't...

  9. #129
That was some mighty fine bass porn. Even better that it's a Corvette Standard (Yeah, I'm biased.)

I was just thinking, have any of you fine folks named your beloved axes? After a year of careful deliberation, I decided to name my bass "Artemis Moon."

And I think the Status justifies inclusion as well!

That fretless looks awesome with the black strings on it mate.

    Black Beauties

I noticed that the strings are tapered. Did you modify or do they come that way stock. Tapered strings are hard to find in my area. I really enjoy my black labels and was considering giving the black beauties a shot but afraid of losing tone and sustain. I have to admit that they do look good and would highlight the black hardware on my thumb V. What do you think?

does anybody know if the color on those strings (also blue and red ones) lasts long?

I bought this strings and my anticipation was great until i noticed that the low B String didn't fit in the tailpiece...damn, i thought and so i phoned Warwick.
They said, that 1-2 of 100 bassist's have this problem and because of that they modified the tailpiece.
I send a mail to service@warwick.de and a few days later i got this new, modified one.
In the meantime i modified the low B String with my bench vise and now....i fits, as you can see :D

So all you need is patience, a bench vise, the modified/new tailpiece and - hopefully not - brute force to get this low B on your bass

    ...all other strings fitted perfectly.

And i strongly admit, that they WILL look great on your bass too!!

    Good luck, son.

These strings aren't colored...they're taped too, but before they were wound.
I think they'll last long enough to get the whole sh** out of them...then you'll need new ones in any case.

LX, THANKS FOR THE ADVISE. I READ YOUR EARLIER THREAD ON TAPERED LOW B. I REALLY DONT WANT TO FILE ON MY TAIL PIECE. I WILL EITHER MODIFY THE STRING (FLATTENING THE END) OR SEE IF WARWICK WILL SEND ME THE A MODIFIED TAIL PIECE. I'LL LET YOU KNOW. PEACE

Yeah, i didn't want to file the tailpiece either...it would be just like injuring myself

But without tapering the low B before i got the new tailpiece, i won't have fitted, so maybe you'll also have to.

    I hope you'll post a photo, when it's done?!

Warwick modified it about half a year ago so if your bass is younger, you should have this new one.

my corvette $$ is brand new, i am a bit worried because i play 4 string basses tuned in A (so lower than a 5-str) and already had some problems fitting a 110 string in my thunderbird :?

first of all, the bass is puristic in my opinion!

treble and bass can be controlled seperatly for each pickup, which is build in a humbucker style.

it has a very low end in the sound, but it is a strong tone, it is not muddy or something!

and the overtones are very rich! with some fx, like a mix of chorus and a little bit delay, i have the possibility to play some hooks out of heaven, lol!!

but u need to compress the signal coming out of the bass, because those sounds the individual strings is volume-moderately too different. or maybe it is my playing.

I run the bass through a 4x10 and 1x15 ampeg with a gallien krueger top! but I will increase the amplifier and will replace the boxes!

    so long....

    Rotten

btw. sorry for my awful english!!

Yeah, was a bit, but one of the things i love most about warwick, is you can get any bass in the range with the same options, with no upcharge. i am currently saving the pennies for a nice streamer S1
Tell me about it! I had to start with Yamaha, back in -96, just because nobody else could deliver a decent beginner-bass at an affordable rate. Now, it`s easier to get basses, but no to try brands.

... but I can understand the business....

Yeah! I started out by finding a used Fortress 1 fretless and so much fell in love, that I traded it and some $$'s for this FNA, and I'm a Warwick lover ever since! I got a chance to try out a used Streamer Stage 1 with a pair of Bartollini's in it, (fretless-5), and I want it BAD! Can't afford it, yet, though...
